2003-11-26 - 10:16 p.m. It was a real treat to play with Hackensaw Boys again and finally get to play with the CanKickers. Station 58 was a pretty cool room to do it in. Hestons played first. For some reason there were major problems getting us setup and working. The concept of hooking up the vocal effects pedal was for some reason un-graspable to the club owner/sound guy. He actually tried to tell us that they didn’t have an extra cable to hook it up with (which was a totally lie since there were unused cables all over the place) We played a pretty solid set with the exception of “Celebs”, which blew pretty badly. The debut of “The March of the Insignificant People” went over well and Sadlowski took a nice beating during “Dirty Girls”. We were pretty well received which was cool since it was more of a punky-bluegrass crowd. CanKickers played the best set we’ve ever seen them play. I think those guys are the most underrated band in the state.
