Our Friend Tom Sadlowski has a lot of free time on his hands. Here is proof:
Tom put some un-authorized Heston related video footage on his website. To get him to take it down I drew up this fake legal notice:
From the desk of Hestons Legal Department, Branch 003 of Heston labs,
Colchester CT.
It has come to the attention of Hestons Legal Department that your
server (www.greeneggsentertainment) currently has for download a video
containing the likeness and image of a one Joe Heston of our musical
group “The Chuck Hestons”. This video is currently being displayed
without the prior written will of our client. Please remove this file
from your server immediately. If this file is not removed from your
server within the next 48 hours further legal notice may be issued
from this office. If this file continues to stay on your server past
this 48-hour window, we request full access to your website’s logs and
you will be levied a fine of $2000 for every download of this file.
To counter this, he went out and setup a fake email address for his fake legal department and sent me this email:
Dear sirs:
Green Eggs Entertainment has received your notice and has forwarded
said notice to their legal team for consultation regarding the
following video;
"2002-08-10-THE_RACE.MPG"
and associated statement;
"THE RACE starring Joe Heston of The Chuck Hestons and Dan
Prindle of Rane. Mr. Heston joins Rane on tour supporting
Ozomatli in August 2002. While at a hotel post-show in
Amish Country (Lancaster, PA), many libations are consumed
leading to "The Race" between Mr. Heston and Mr. Prindle."

We will contact you once an internal decision has been reached prior
to your stated 6:22pm EST deadline on the 21st day of November of 2003.

Ok whatever, that’s cool. So setting up fake law departments is cool and all and I figured this was done. Then the next day I get another email:
Dear sirs:
After reviewing your inquiry and deeming it to be valid, Green Eggs Entertainment has made all modifications necessary to be in compliance with your cease and desist request regarding deformation of character in regards to;
"likeness and image of a one Joe Heston of our musical group
“The Chuck Hestons”"
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Alright, so super I guess were done. No wait we’re not, Tom still didn’t take the video down. We waited a few more days and then Other Guy sent Tom an email to see what was up and to tell him that he really should take the video down. He wrote back this whole email how he was getting a whole fake case together to send out and that is why he didn’t take the video down yet! So the moral of the story is that Tom has a lot of free time to kill in the course of a week.
